Every Tuesday

Blackweir Outreach – 12:00–15:00

Youth Workers will be out along the Taff Trail and Blackweir Fields offering free information, support and guidance. We will be speaking with young people about water safety and staying safe in the community. Say hello if you see us.

Gabalfa Junior Youth Club (Years 6–8) – 17:15–19:45

Open‑access youth club for young people in Years 6, 7 and 8. Activities include cooking, arts and crafts, podcasting, gardening, gaming, music, issue‑based workshops and more.

Every Wednesday

Post‑16 CV & Jobs Club – from 16:00 (into Senior Club)

Support available for:

• College applications
• Part‑time job searches
• CV writing
• Interview preparation
• Visits to colleges, training providers or workplaces

EHE Group (Ages 11–16) – 12:00–14:00

A bespoke club for Electively Home Educated young people. Activities include cooking, e‑sports, podcasting, board games and more. Parents are welcome to stay and meet other home‑educating families.

Life Hack Labz with Nevaeh (Years 6–9) – 15:00–17:00

A six‑week programme teaching independent living skills such as cooking a meal, using a washing machine, changing a lightbulb and more. Speak to Nevaeh to book a place.

Gabalfa Senior Youth Club (Year 9–Age 18) – 18:15–20:45

Open‑access youth club for young people in Year 9 and above. Activities include cooking, arts, podcasting, gardening, gaming, music and workshops. Each week includes free music education from Tyrone at Sound Progression, covering lyric writing, music production and recording.

Every Thursday

Welsh Club (Years 7–9) – 13:00–16:00

A Welsh‑medium open‑access youth club. Suitable for fluent speakers, bilingual young people or anyone wanting to improve their Welsh. Activities include cooking, arts, podcasting, gaming, music and more.

Gabalfa Inters Youth Club (Years 7–9) – 17:45–20:15

Open‑access youth club with a wide range of activities including cooking, arts and crafts, podcasting, gaming, music and workshops.

Every Friday

Blackweir Outreach – 12:00–15:00

Street‑based youth work along the Taff Trail and Blackweir Fields. Information, support and guidance with a focus on water safety and community safety.

Girls Empowerment Project – 13:00–14:30 (Targeted Group)

A supportive space for young women to explore topics such as healthy relationships, substance use, menstrual health, women’s rights, confidence and self‑esteem. Delivered through group discussions and guest speakers. Speak to Rowan for more information.

SPECIAL SUMMER EVENTS

Thursday 23rd July – Picnic in the Park @ Lydstep Park – 12:00–15:00

Annual community event run by the Gabalfa Youth Action Group. Join partners including South Wales Police, Cardiff Youth Service, Stardust Theatre, Ministry of Life, McDonald’s and others. All community members welcome.

Tuesday 28th July – Firefighter for a Day (Invite Only)

A unique opportunity for selected young people to experience life as a firefighter.

Friday 7th August – CYS x Lesotho Fundraiser – 12:00–15:00 (TBC)

Gabalfa Youth & Community Centre Family Fun Day with BBQ, car wash, music, games and fundraising activities. Supporting seven young women travelling to Lesotho on a youth exchange with Dolen Cymru and Heal Our Land.

Wednesday 19th August – Storey Arms Day Trip (Invite Only)

Outdoor adventure day for selected young people.

Monday 24th & Tuesday 25th August – Storey Arms Residential (Invite Only)

Two‑day residential experience with outdoor challenges and team‑building.
